Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification (NEA-BC®)
Credential Awarded: NEA-BC®
The ANCC Nurse Executive Advanced board certification examination is a competency-based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry level knowledge and skills of the nurses with system-wide or organization-wide influence. Typically, these nurses are accountable for multiple groups of nurses and may be accountable for non-nurse personnel and operations. They focus, in part, on strategy, high-level finance, resource management, and system integration. They make higher-level decisions and serve as external representatives of the organization.
After you fulfill all eligibility requirements to take and pass the certification examination, you are granted the credential NEA-BC (Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified). This credential and certification are valid for 5 years. You maintain this certification and credential by holding a current license to practice and renewing the certification every five years, by fulfilling the renewal criteria in effect at the time of your certification renewal.
The Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredit this ANCC certification.
