Applying for Pathway Redesignation

The application process for initial Pathway to Excellence designation and redesignation are the same. 

Follow the steps on the page below to submit your organization’s eligibility details, complete the Pathway Applicant Registration (PAR), and pay the non-refundable application fee. Please note: The PAR must be submitted at least 8-12 months prior to the intended Pathway document submission cycle.

Determining Your Pathway Re-Designation Timeline

The Pathway to Excellence designation is granted for a four-year term. Applicant organizations should submit eligibility details and complete the PAR at least 8-12 months prior to the intended Pathway document submission cycle. 

To determine when you should submit the re-designation Pathway Standards Document (PSD):

1. Determine the expiration date for the current designation. Organizations can locate their expiration date in the Pathway Portal at www.pathway.nursingworld.org, or in the Designation Essentials letter provided by email at the time the current designation was granted.

2. Use the link below to determine the document submission cycle to select when completing the PAR.

Pathway-designated organizations whose expiration month does not fall on an established submission cycle may submit the Pathway Standards Document on the next submission cycle (E.g., for an organization designated in March, designation expires in March, and the Pathway Standards Document may be submitted in April). 

Once the Pathway Standards Document is submitted in accordance with the above, the current Pathway designation status will remain in good standing while the appraisal process is underway.
