ANCC Announces Board of Directors’ New Term Appointments For 2024 - 2025

SILVER SPRING, MD – Today the American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors announces new term appointments for four leaders to serve on the 10-member Board of Directors for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). All terms of appointment are from January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025.
Laura J. Wood, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN
Dr. Wood was re-appointed to the ANCC Board of Directors for her second term and will be the new ANCC President starting January 1, 2024. She’s succeeding current ANCC President Rhonda Anderson, DNSc(h), MPA, BS, RN, LFACHE, FAAN in leading ANCC's internationally renowned certification, accreditation, and recognition programs. Dr. Wood is nationally recognized as an accomplished executive nursing practice leader with substantial experience advancing health outcomes in pediatric delivery systems and digital health industry settings.
Rhonda Anderson, DNSc(h), MPA, BS, RN, FACHE, FAAN
Dr. Anderson was re-appointed for her fourth term on ANCC’s Board of Directors and will be the immediate past president of ANCC starting January 1, 2024. Dr. Anderson is a health care consultant for RMA Consulting of Arizona, and a consultant/surveyor for Global Healthcare Accreditation. From 2009 to 2016 she served as CEO of Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Anderson has received several awards throughout her distinguished career for her service to the nursing and business communities.
Brian Selig, DNP, MHA, RN, NEA-BC
Dr. Selig was re-appointed for his third term on ANCC’s Board of Directors. He is the Division Vice President of Surgical Services HCA Healthcare of the West Florida Division in Tampa Bay. Prior to this role, Brian held leadership positions in Perioperative, Procedural, and Emergency nursing units in Kansas City as well as in Las Vegas. Dr. Selig has released several publications and has been a speaker both nationally and internationally on topics such as nurse leader development and controlled substance diversion.
Emily Sego, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Dr. Sego was appointed for her first term on ANCC’s Board of Directors. She is a Senior Nurse Executive at Nihon Kohden, a Tokyo-based medical device company, and brings 25 years of clinical nursing experience to the Board. Dr. Sego was recently appointed to the Indiana State Board of Nursing and served two consecutive terms as the President of the Indiana State Nurses Association from 2019-2022 as well as a two-year term as Vice President from 2017-2019. She is currently a member of the Indiana Organization for Nursing Leadership.
