ANA President Visits with Nursing School Students to Discuss Top Issues Facing Nurses

SILVER SPRING, MD  – In celebration of National Nurses Month, the American Nurses Association (ANA) President Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, made a special community visit with nursing students at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) School of Nursing to energize and encourage them as they prepare for a career in nursing. They discussed pressing concerns facing today’s nursing workforce, which is enduring unprecedented challenges related to safe work environment, mental health and wellness, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) within the profession.

President Mensik Kennedy spent time learning more about each of the students, their aspirations for a future career in nursing, and took photographs for other nursing students following along on social media.

“I see a group of individuals who will be very powerful and change the profession for the good,” said Mensik Kennedy.
