ANA Denounces All Forms of Cultural and Religious Discrimination

SILVER SPRING, MD - The American Nurses Association (ANA) vehemently denounces all forms of cultural and religious discrimination. This stance is not only a moral duty, but one rooted in the very fabric of our professional ethics which demand respect, dignity, and sensitivity to all individuals regardless of their background, culture, or religion. Antisemitism is a reprehensible form of hatred that continues to cause deep suffering and irreparable pain to generations of individuals and communities of Jewish heritage or faith worldwide. Any act of hatred, violence, or discrimination against Jewish communities has no place in a humane society.

Recent calls for worldwide violence and attacks against innocent civilians are horrific and deplorable. Nurses providing care to victims in affected areas and hospitals are witnessing the devastation and lasting trauma firsthand. ANA stands with all impacted communities, including nurses, calling for an immediate end to the violence and hatred. We remain committed to fostering an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusivity in nursing and beyond, and will continue to work tirelessly to uphold these values across all platforms and contexts.
