ANCC Kicks Off Conference in Philadelphia with Giving Campaign to Support PHLCares and the American Nurses Foundation

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Today, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) kicks off the annual ANCC National Magnet Conference® and ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® in Philadelphia with the launch of a giving campaign to support PHLCares and the American Nurses Foundation. ANCC seeks to raise $50,000 through donations given during the conference that will be shared between PHLCares, a homelessness solutions initiative, and the American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation), committed to advancing the nursing profession.
ANCC invites the local community of Philadelphia to join the more than 10,000 nurses attending the conference in a text-to-give campaign challenge that begins during the conference and remains open through October 31, 2022.
With nearly 4,900 people living on the streets, Philadelphia is facing a chronic street homelessness crisis. PHLCares provides access to long-term housing and other resources that those experiencing homelessness need to succeed. Nursing is a profession committed to health equity. Addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) such as safe housing is a priority for the nation’s nursing workforce and in alignment with the PHLCares mission. The American Nurses Foundation strives to provide nurses the financial resources they need to research, test, and amplify solutions that address pressing issues in health care and communities nationwide.

Past giving campaigns initiated by ANCC have raised more than $50,000 to support local charities in conference host cities. Donations to the PHLCares Fund help provide long-term housing for those suffering from chronic homelessness. Funds raised for the Foundation will support Health and Well-Being programs for nurses and the communities that they serve.
This year, Hillman Group and The Bradford Exchange will match donations up to $15,000.
