ANCC Board of Directors Appointments

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors appointed leaders to serve on the 10-member board of directors for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). All terms of office begin on January 1, 2020.

Current ANCC board member Rhonda Anderson, DNSc(h), BS, MPA, RN, FAAN, FACHE (Arizona Nurses Association) was appointed as the incoming ANCC president. Anderson is a health care consultant for RMA Consulting of Arizona, having previously been CEO of Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona from 2009 to 2016. Teresa Haller, MSN, MBA, NEA-BC, FAAN (Virginia Nurses Association) was re-appointed for a second term of service as ANCC Treasurer.  

First-time director appointees include Brian Selig DNP, MHA, RN, NEA-BC (ANA-Illinois) and Ruth Kleinpell, PhD, RN, APRN-BC, FAAN (ANA-Illinois) . The newest members bring years of nursing experience and health care expertise to the board. Dr. Selig is the Director of Perioperative Services at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS. Dr. Kleinpell currently serves as Assistant Dean for Clinical Scholarship, Independence Foundation Chair in Nursing Education, and Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.

Those continuing their terms on the ANCC board in 2020 are: Secretary Mary Graf, MSN, RN, NEA-BC; Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN; Michael D. Ward, PhD, RTR, FASRT, FMoSRT; ANA Enterprise CEO Loressa Cole, DNP, MBA, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC; ANA President Ernest J. Grant, PhD, RN, FAAN; and ANA Enterprise Chief Nursing Officer/EVP Debbie D. Hatmaker, PhD, RN, FAAN.
