Mary is a former Department Chair and Associate Dean who is now a consultant specializing in precision health. She holds a gubernatorial appointment (California, Newsom) to the state’s Advisory to Advance Precision Medicine and she chairs a workgroup of a CMS-sponsored committee on Post-Acute Care Interoperability (PACIO) under the CARIN Initiative. She holds numerous awards for scholarship and writing in data science and informatics.

Melissa has over 15 years of clinical bedside nursing experience having worked domestically, in East Africa, and Haiti. Her body of work has been focused on nursing leadership, human resources for health capacity building, and global health. At Partners In Health, she works to accompany nursing colleagues in resource limited settings to advance the nursing profession and improve patient care. Dr. Ojemeni holds a Ph.D. from New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing, a Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution with a global health concentration from Arcadia University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Gwynedd Mercy University.

Dr. Forcina is a PhD-prepared nurse with a clinical background in oncology and end-of-life care. She is a Clinical Nurse Leader, a Certified Nurse Educator, and Chair of the NC Interprofessional Leaders Collaborative. Dr. Forcina has been a key partner with stakeholders in NC in building the contact tracing curriculum and coordinating the engagement of student and interprofessional volunteers in the COVID response.

Meg received her BSN and PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing. In 2014 she was selected as a Josiah Macy Faculty Scholar and is currently serving on the IPEC Expert Panel “Leveraging the IPEC Competency Framework to Transform Health Professions Education.” She leads the Rural Interprofessional Health Initiative (RIPHI) and the Carolina COVID Student Services Corps, two programs that partner IP students with communities to focus on service and quality improvement.

Cheryl’s research is aimed at uncovering knowledge related to the organization and delivery of care, and the impacts on the costs, quality and safety of care. Dr. Jones is a recognized leader in nursing health services research, having studied micro- and macro-level nurse workforce issues to improve the work environment, executive practice, and the cost and quality of care delivery. One of her most recognized contributions has been the development, testing, and refinement of a method to measure nurse turnover costs.

Dr. Alexander has held a variety of leadership positions since she joined the school in 2003. In addition to serving on the faculty, She also provided leadership and resources for the Gillings School of Global Public Health and the Adams School of Dentistry. Dr. Alexander is currently the American Nurses Association’s Scholar-in-Residence Addressing Racism in Nursing and serves on The Leapfrog Group Board. Her nursing career spans over 45 years in the areas of public policy, advocacy, teaching, and health careers development with an emphasis on cultural diversity issues. At a national level, she has served as President of the National League for Nursing.
