Committee on Bylaws
The Committee on Bylaws, a standing committee of the ANA Membership Assembly, is comprised of seven members Constituent/State Nurses Association (C/SNA) or Individual Member Division (IMD) members appointed by the ANA Board of Directors.
Per the ANA Bylaws (Article V, Section 6. 5 a), the Committee on Bylaws shall:
- Interpret these bylaws.
- Receive and prepare proposed amendments to these bylaws or articles of incorporation, report them to the ANA Board of Directors, and submit them to the Membership Assembly.
- Review the articles of incorporation and bylaws of an association that applies to ANA for membership status in order to determine conformity with qualifications of C/SNAs and the IMD in these bylaws and report its findings to the ANA Board of Directors.
- Determine a regular schedule to review bylaws of C/SNAs and the IMD and review their bylaws upon changes in qualifications or responsibilities of C/SNAs and the IMD in these bylaws, to determine continuing conformity with these bylaws, and report its findings to the ANA Board of Directors.
Pursuant to the ANA Bylaws (Article XII, Section 1.a), the ANA Bylaws may be amended with prior notice.
