Who We Are
Members and Affiliates
The American Nurses Association represents the interests of the nation's 4 million registered nurses (RNs) through joint membership with our constituent and state nurses associations, direct membership in ANA, and through our partnership specialty nursing and affiliate organizations. For more information about the constituent and state nurses associations, please see an ANA interactive association map below.
Individual Members
ANA Only Membership (available in some states) and E-Membership are ways that individuals can become members of ANA directly. ANA only members receive full member benefits at the national level, including the chance to influence decisions made at the national level that affect the practice of nursing and the health of our patients and our communities, but have no benefits at the state level. E-Members receive limited benefits and can access the members only section of NursingWorld.org.
Organizational Affiliates
ANA's affiliates are nursing organizations that belong to ANA as organizations. Working together, ANA and these organizational affiliates seek to share information and collaborate in finding solutions to issues that face the nursing profession, regardless of specialty. Affiliates each hold a voting seat in ANA's Membership Assembly.
